An online store is probably the easiest Internet business model to understand. Just like any traditional brick and mortar store the business owner buys product at wholesale and sells it at retail. The big difference is that you are open for business 24/7 and you don't have to be in any particular geographic location. The shopping cart software takes care of the sales for you.
This is not to say they are not a lot of work. Orders must be filled, customer service inquires answered and new products entered into the database. But you have the luxury to do it all on your own schedule.
